天涯霜雪霽寒宵。
五更鼓角聲悲壯，
三峽星河影動搖。
野哭幾家聞戰伐，
夷歌數處起漁樵。
臥龍躍馬終黃土，

The year is ending... yin and yang
bring in the winter days

the falling snow has stopped－
a cold clear night, here at the world's edge

I hear the fifth watch drum and bugles
a sad military sound

river of stars overhead
trembling above the Three Gorges

people weeping for their war dead
in maybe a thousand households

but early-to-work songs rising up as well
from woodcutters and fishermen

Sleeping Dragon, Prancing Horse
you're nothing but dust in brown earth

and like the letters I don't get
my loneliness means nothing.
